Bali the Beautiful Island
Most of Bali's people is Austronesian, who migrate originally from Taiwan. Culturally, Balinese was influenced by Indian and China, so the Hinduism culture is very strong there. 93,18% of Bali's population is Balinese Hinduism, and the most remainder is Moslem.
Bali is renowned for its art forms, such as dancing, panting, woodcarving and many others. Balinese dances and reflect the stories of Hinduism such as Ramayana with strong influence of Bali's culture. Famous dances form Bali are Pendet, Legong, Kecak, topeng, Barong, and Baris.
Most Balinese are Hindu. Every year, Balinese celebrate the new year of Hindu called Nyepi. They celebrate in the spring by a day of silence. On that day, there aren't any people on the road. Every body have to stay at home, and the tourist stay at hotel to respect the religion.
On the preceding day large, colorful sculptures of ogoh-ogoh monsters are paraded and finally burned in the evening to drive away evil spirits. Other festivals throughout the year are specified by the Balinese pawukon calendrical system.
